Film and Radio
Film and radio both have their roots firmly in the 19th Century but appeared as we know them today in the 20th Century.
The earliest films were silent and in some cases were accompanied in cinemas by a pianist. The first films to feature a soundtrack appeared in the 1920's. The crystal set was the forerunner to the radio, which was originally known as a wireless.
